I am in Belize , Central America and this week I worked with some young people at a church on Caye Caulker. We were doing worship dance and arts and crafts.

My husband and I also worked on a new high school being built there as there is not High School at the moment and the Grade 9-12 have to go to the mainland to live on their own all week. Here are a few pictures for the newsletter.

This week I am working at a different location closer to the border of Guatemala. My husband is helping build a new classroom for a school. I will be teaching some classes and giving the teachers a break.

I will try to send pictures of the new location but here are a few of the Island school children from Caye Caulker just off the shore on Belize City . I may not be giving art lessons at the new location but we send something more if I get that chance.

This week I have been helping give some teachers a break at a large Children's Home in Ontario Village . I taught a class or two, not art classes were available that I could find so it was math and science. I also worked with the principal and set her up an entire file system (paper) while another of the team set up her accounting on the computer.

We took a day off and went to the Sittee River area. The white sand beaches are right in front of the hotel and the Caribbean Sea stretches on forever. Today we are going back to Belize City for supplies and then we are back “up north” in Ontario Village again.

We are always so busy here I don't get time to draw or paint but after Tuesday I may be able to do some work for myself!

Hi again. We are staying at the Radisson tonight as we have some loose ends to tie up here in Belize City . We haven't seen Pastor Melvin Davis yet and we would like to try to go to the children's home and also the Presbyterian Church in the port area. After that we go back to Ontario Village to help with some more work on the high school. I am going to get some pencils, ink and paper and try to draw some of the kids. They have so many expressions and their smiles are worth remembering!

Meanwhile, it seems like we have been on the road a long time and yet it never seems long enough. The needs are so great that you just have to pick 2 or 3 greatest needs and try to fill them. It always feels like just a drop in the bucket but the people here are very grateful for whatever help we can offer.

Tomorrow Greg and I will go out fishing, just the two of us. It is fun to catch the fish but the boat ride and seeing all the different birds, fish and wildlife are equally beautiful.

Here are some pictures I took while we were at the Settie River (Hopkins Area) and some of the huge caves with stalactites and cobalt blue water. The scenery on the mountain trail was also very beautiful.

Love to all!   Deb & Greg
